Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 1 September 2026
Welcome to Panacea Design.
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the Panacea Design website and the information, resources and services described through it. Panacea Design is operated under ABN 20 480 659 428 in Western Australia. By using this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you engage Panacea Design to provide services, additional service specific terms, consents or agreements may also apply.
1. What Panacea Design does
Panacea Design helps people understand how their existing home performs and make informed decisions about improving comfort, energy efficiency and future readiness. Depending on the service selected, this may include home thermal and energy assessments, home upgrade planning, recommendations, guidance, comparison of options and support or coordination through the home upgrade process. The exact scope of any service will be set out in the relevant service description, booking information, proposal, agreement or terms of engagement.
2. Information on this website
We take care to provide useful, accurate and practical information. However, information on this website is general in nature. Every home is different. Appropriate upgrades and their likely benefits can be affected by factors including the home’s construction, age, orientation, condition, location, existing services, previous renovations, occupant behaviour, budget and the way the home is used. Website information should therefore not be treated as advice specific to your property or as a substitute for an assessment or advice from an appropriately qualified professional or licensed trade.
We may update, change or remove website information from time to time without notice.
3. Home assessments and recommendations
Where Panacea Design provides a home thermal or energy assessment, the assessment is generally non-invasive and based on the conditions that are observable or accessible at the time of assessment. Depending on the service, an assessment may include visual observations, thermal imaging, diagnostic tools, discussion with the homeowner or occupier, photographs, measurements and consideration of energy use and building performance.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, a Panacea Design assessment is not:
-
a pre-purchase or comprehensive building inspection;
-
a structural inspection;
-
an electrical, plumbing, gas, pest or hazardous materials inspection;
-
a safety or regulatory compliance inspection;
-
certification that work complies with the National Construction Code, NatHERS, planning, building approval or local government requirements; or
-
a guarantee that all defects, faults or performance issues within a property will be identified.
Concealed, inaccessible or latent conditions may not be identified during an assessment.
4. Thermal imaging
Thermal imaging is one of the tools Panacea Design may use to better understand how a home is performing. Thermal images show patterns and differences in surface temperature under the conditions present at the time the image is taken. They can help identify areas that may warrant further investigation, but do not by themselves prove the presence, absence or cause of insulation defects, air leakage, moisture, electrical faults or other building defects. Where further investigation is appropriate, we may recommend that you obtain advice from a suitably qualified professional or licensed trade.
5. Recommendations and professional advice
Our role is to help you understand your home, identify opportunities and make better-informed home upgrade decisions. Some recommendations may require further investigation, design, certification or advice before they are implemented. Unless expressly included within the agreed scope of services, Panacea Design does not provide structural engineering, electrical, plumbing, gasfitting, building certification, surveying, legal, financial or other regulated professional services.
Where specialist or licensed work is required, it should be undertaken or reviewed by an appropriately qualified person.
6. Home performance and outcomes
Panacea Design aims to identify practical ways to improve how a home performs, but no two homes or households perform in exactly the same way.
Actual results may be affected by factors outside our control, including:
-
weather and climate conditions;
-
occupant behaviour and household size;
-
energy prices and tariffs;
-
product performance;
-
existing building conditions;
-
design and installation decisions;
-
contractor workmanship;
-
maintenance; and
-
changes made to the property after our assessment.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, estimates relating to comfort improvement, energy consumption, energy savings, emissions reductions, costs, payback periods, property value or other outcomes are indicative only and are not guarantees.
7. Information you provide to us
To provide useful advice, we may rely on information supplied by you or on your behalf. This may include building plans, property history, information about previous renovations, energy bills, appliance details, photographs, known defects and information about how the home is used. You are responsible for providing information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge and for letting us know about any known hazards or conditions relevant to our work. Where you arrange access to a property, you confirm that you have authority to provide that access. Panacea Design may decline to enter or inspect any area that we reasonably consider unsafe, inaccessible or outside the scope of the service.
8. Trades, suppliers and other service providers
As part of some services, Panacea Design may help you identify, communicate with, compare, engage with or coordinate trades, suppliers, consultants and other service providers. The precise role Panacea Design performs in relation to those providers will depend on the service you purchase and will be set out in the relevant proposal or terms of engagement.
Unless Panacea Design expressly agrees otherwise in writing, independent trades, contractors, consultants and suppliers remain responsible for their own:
-
quotations and pricing;
-
licences and registrations;
-
advice and representations;
-
products and materials;
-
workmanship;
-
warranties;
-
insurance;
-
workplace and site safety obligations; and
-
compliance with applicable laws, codes and standards.
Where you contract directly with a third party, that contract is between you and the third party. A recommendation, introduction or inclusion of a provider in a comparison does not amount to a guarantee of that provider’s future performance.
9. Prices, bookings and payments
Prices and service information displayed on the website are subject to change.
The price, inclusions and scope applying to your service will be the price and service information presented to you when your booking or engagement is confirmed, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Where deposits, cancellation terms, rescheduling conditions, travel charges or other booking conditions apply, these will be disclosed as part of the relevant booking process or service terms. Nothing in these Terms affects any refund, remedy or other right you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with rights and guarantees that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
To the extent permitted by law, Panacea Design is not responsible for loss arising from:
-
use of general website information as a substitute for advice specific to a property;
-
inaccurate, incomplete or withheld information provided to us;
-
defects or conditions that could not reasonably be identified within the agreed scope of an assessment;
-
work, products, advice or conduct of independent third parties;
-
changes made to a property after an assessment; or
-
outcomes affected by matters outside our reasonable control.
Any further limitations applying to a particular Panacea Design service will be set out in the agreement or terms applicable to that service.

14. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our collection and handling of personal information is described in the Panacea Design Privacy Policy available on this website. Where you engage us for an assessment or another service, additional consent relating to property photographs, thermal images, assessment information or project information may also apply.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as our website, services or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this website with the date it was last updated. Changes do not retrospectively replace the terms of an existing service agreement unless agreed or permitted by law.
16. Governing law
