4. Photographs and thermal images
Photographs and thermal images can be an important part of understanding and documenting how a home performs. Where relevant to your service, Panacea Design may collect photographs, thermal images, measurements and assessment notes for assessment, reporting, planning and record-keeping purposes. We will not publish an image that identifies you personally without appropriate permission. Information or images about a property may only be used for educational, research, case-study or marketing purposes where this is consistent with the consent you have provided or the information has been appropriately de-identified. Where we would like to feature an identifiable client, homeowner, property or project publicly, we may seek separate permission.
5. De-identified and aggregated information
Panacea Design may use appropriately de-identified or aggregated information to:
-
understand common home-performance issues;

improve our assessment and upgrade services;
-
develop educational resources;
-
evaluate the impact of home upgrades;
-
contribute to research or program evaluation; or
-
communicate broader insights about existing homes.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure information described as de-identified cannot reasonably identify an individual. Where a government, research, industry or other program requires identifiable client information to be shared, we will deal with that separately and explain the relevant information-handling arrangements to participants where required.
6. Who we may share information with
We do not sell your personal information. Where reasonably necessary to operate our business or provide an agreed service, information may be disclosed to:

Where Panacea Design assists you to obtain quotes or coordinate upgrades, we will only provide third parties with information reasonably necessary for that purpose.
7. Service providers and overseas processing
Like most businesses, Panacea Design may use third-party technology and cloud services to store information, communicate with clients, manage bookings, process payments, maintain business records or operate our website.
Some providers may store or process information outside Australia or use infrastructure located in multiple countries. Where the Australian Privacy Principles apply to us, we will take reasonable steps in relation to overseas disclosures as required by law. As our technology systems change from time to time, you can contact us if you would like current information about the main locations in which our service providers process or store personal information.
8. Marketing communications
If you choose to receive Panacea Design news, practical home-upgrade information or other marketing communications, we may use your contact details for that purpose. Where required, we will obtain your consent before sending commercial electronic marketing communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in the communication or by contacting us directly. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending communications reasonably necessary to provide a service you have requested or purchased.
9. Cookies and website analytics
The Panacea Design website may use cookies and similar technologies to help the website operate, understand how visitors use it and improve the online experience. Depending on the tools used on our website, cookies may collect information such as browser type, device information, website interactions and general usage information. You can usually control or disable cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect the operation of some website features. If we introduce advertising, remarketing or other tracking technologies that materially change how information is collected or used, we will update this policy and implement any additional consent measures that are appropriate.
10. Protecting your information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These measures may include appropriate access controls, passwords, secure cloud systems, software security measures, business procedures and secure disposal practices. No electronic system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
11. How long we keep information
We retain personal information for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate business, insurance, professional, taxation, record-keeping and legal purposes.
Retention periods may therefore vary depending on the type of information and service. When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we may securely destroy or de-identify it, subject to any legal or legitimate record keeping requirements.
12. Accessing or correcting your information
You can contact Panacea Design if you would like to:
-
ask what personal information we hold about you;
-
request access to that information; or
-
ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
We may need to confirm your identity before providing access or making a change. In some circumstances, the law may permit or require us to refuse access. If that occurs, we will explain our decision where required.
13. Remaining anonymous
You are welcome to browse our website and make a general enquiry without providing more information than is reasonably necessary. For some services, however, we need to know who you are and obtain property and contact information in order to make a booking, access a property, provide an assessment, prepare a personalised report or coordinate work.
14. Privacy questions or complaints
If you have a question or concern about how Panacea Design has handled your personal information, please contact us. We will take your concern seriously and aim to investigate and respond within a reasonable period. If the Privacy Act applies to the matter and you are not satisfied with our response, you may also have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
15. External websites
Our website may link to websites operated by other organisations. Panacea Design is not responsible for the privacy practices of those organisations. We recommend reviewing the privacy information provided by the relevant organisation when using its website or services.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version will always be available on our website and will show the date it was last updated.
